Raw Vegan Sour Cream

For Valentine's Day I wanted to make baked potatoes with "sour cream" and green onions. I have been eating a mostly raw vegan diet for 7 years now and I can't believe I have never made this before. It was amazing! I truly thought I was eating sour cream. It's SO simple to make.

SOUR CREAM

In a high speed blender add:

2 c. Raw Cashews
Juice of 2 or more limes
1 t. Sea Salt
Pure water for desired thickness

Blend until smooooooth.

Dalop onto whatever you would use sour cream for.

Happy savoring!!

P.S. Remember that nuts and seeds are high in F A T. Use them sparingly. No more than a HANDFUL a day and if you need to lose weight, avoid them.

Raw Cranberry Sauce

November 18, 2014

I have always LOVED Cranberry Sauce with my mashed potatoes and fixin's at Thanksgiving. In fact I am pretty sure that it's actually my favorite part of the Thanksgiving feast! I had to have some with every bite. Well, who says you can only have it for dinner...this version is actually what I've been having for breakfast ever since I've been able to find organic cranberries at the grocery store!

CRANBERRY DELIGHT SAUCE
1/2 pineapple
10 Dates, pitted
8 oz. Organic Cranberries

Optional additions:
1 orange
1 apple

Combine in food processor

Enjoy!

So so good! You'll NEVER want to eat that canned stuff again!

Raw Vegan Key Lime Pie

June 26, 2014

Raw Vegan Key Lime Pie

Ok so...WHO doesn't like KEY LIME PIE???? But who doesn't want to DIE because of eating some??? Yeah...so...
Here's a recipe that will make you think you HAVE died and gone to
"It's actually healthy for me Heaven!!" Hehe..

Pie Filling
In a good blender add:

4 LARGE or 5 medium RIPE avocados
Zest of 8 limes (do first)
1 c. Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice (use limes you zested.)
1 1/2 - 2 c. Raw Honey (add to taste)
1 T. Vanilla
1 t. Sea salt

Blend until completely smooth and creamy.

CRUST

In a food processor add:

3 c. Raw Organic Almonds
10 Large Medjool Dates
1 t. Sea Salt
1 T. Vanilla

Blend.

Press into a pie dish.

Add filling.
Cover.
Freeze.

I like to put mine into a plastic cake carrier to freeze.

Wait until it's firm enough to slice.
If it's frozen solid use a warm knife to slice & then let thaw out a smidge before eating (if you can wait that long..Popsicle pie slices are awesome too!)

If you don't LOVE this something's wrong with you... J/K! ;) No seriously...

I'll add some pics after it's frozen...

ENJOY!

Berries & Kreme

June 15, 2014

This recipe is BERRY good! Hahaha!
Ok...I know....
Anyway....
It's Fathers Day and I didn't have a lot of time to make something in advance so I just whipped this up in like 10 minutes!

Berries & Kreme

Use any berries you want!
Or any fruits for that matter!

I used all organic:
Strawberries
Blackberries
Blueberries
Raspberries

Kreme:
2 c. Raw Cashews
2 oranges, juiced
1/4- 1/2 c raw honey
1 T. Vanilla
1/2 t. Sea salt

Blend well until creamy.
Pour over berries and refrigerate until ready to eat.

This stuff reminds me of sweetened condensed milk that I used to eat by the spoonful straight from the can and poured over bananas!

For sure add bananas when you are going to eat this salad. You can't put
them in until you are ready to eat them because they will turn yucky and brown.
Just make sure to add them! You'll understand what I mean...

Oh so good!

Happy Father's Day!!

Enjoy!

Raw Vegan Kale Chips

May 28, 2014

When I go 100% raw I like to have some little occasional "indulgences" & "delicacies"...wait...I have ALWAYS wanted indulgences & delicacies! What am I talking about!?
Uh hum.. I digress...
Ok so CHIPS!! I LOVE CHIPS!!! But NOT the heart disease creating oils & frying, and that little cancer causing thing called ACRYLAMIDE!!!! Yeah well...
SO when I had a raw vegan kale chip I felt like I had won the lottery!!! Yahooooo!!!
But a bag of these 2.2 oz babies sets you back $6!

Sorry about the empty bag picture...they're so delicious I ate them already.. #notashamedtoadmitit

So just like everything else those who "live in this world but are not of it" have to do...we have to make our healthy and good for us food ourselves!

So HERE is the recipe:

I added some Chipotle &Smoked Paprika  for some more taste sensation!

10 hours in the Dehyrdator @ 115* and voilá!

Now a GALLON size bag full of chips is MUCH MORE LIKE IT!!! 😜

Oooooo SO GOOD!!

I KNOW you're gonna love 'em!!

Raw Vegan Cole Slaw

May 20, 2014

Hey Everybody!

My dear husband has been sick with the flu for a while and 10 days ago was diagnosed as having pneumonia. He immediately went %100 raw!  I am so proud of him! I should have joined him as well but I didn't until yesterday when I started a new challenge of #100DaysofRaw! 😃

He has been getting a little bored of juices and smoothies and so I figured I better get on board too and start whipping up some not-so-"boring" creations for him.

I usually have been doing #Rawtill4 so it's been awhile since I've made some more fancy raw meals.

Today I decided to make a Cole Slaw because my Honey LOVES Cole Slaw!

I just Googled "Award Winning Cole Slaw" and adapted it to raw vegan.

RAW VEGAN COLE SLAW

1 medium to large head of Organic Cabbage, chopped
2 Organic Carrots, grated
1/2 Sweet Onion, chopped

In a good blender add:

1 c. Raw Cashews
1/2 c. Pure Water
The Juice of 1/2 a Lemon
3 T. White Vinegar
1/2 t. Sea Salt
1/8 t. Black Pepper

Blend until creamy and smooth.

Then add:
1 t. Celery Salt

Getting Juicy!!

February 21, 2014

A lot of  80/10/10 er's a.k.a. High Carb Low Fat Raw Vegan's or Low Fat Raw Vegan's don't favor juicing. Juicing removes the fiber from fruits & veggies making them a non WHOLE food and therefore shouldn't be relied on as constant meals. That being said...you get SO MANY nutrients because you can drink TONS more than you can eat so it's really a WONDERFUL way to load up on those nutrients and assist you in your health! So I like to eat them as a 'every couple of days' meal! So drink up!

Here are two of my favorites I shall share with you!

CITRUS BLISS:

I use this awesome juice press!
You don't need one of these but hey...having one is niiiiiiice!!

8 oranges
3-4 grapefruits
1 lemon
1 lime

Cut in half. Quarter grapefruits if extra large.

Juice those puppies:

Voilá!

Put into a couple of containers:

Top off with some pure water if you desire to dilute it a bit, then off you go!

POMM JUICE:

SOUL-SHINE JUICE:

This is my favorite juice of the moment
And I can't take credit for it cuz this fabulous girl, whom you MUST subscribe to on YouTube, is the creator of it but...I modified it a bit..:)

You need a JUICER! But if you don't have one you can just user your blender & strain the pulp! Ha!

This is my all powerful juicer:

Ingredients:
6-8 organic apples
1 organic Cucumber
1 Lemon
1 whole head of organic celery
1 Head of organic Romaine
1/2 lb of organic baby spinach
Organic baby Kale to your liking

Now you're good to go!
That's what I love about making juices and smoothies they are the BEST "take with you" food to go where ever you need to go! IMHO. They nutrify you so much that you are so satisfied and don't want to put any garbaaaahge into you glorious bodiliscious! Seriously.

Juice up!

Seize the day!!

XOXO
❤️RMM

Smoothilisciousness!

February 21, 2014

Posting some delicious smoothie combos for your blending pleasure! :D

I just want to point out that FRESH is ALWAYS best!! RIPE is ESSENTIAL in eating raw fruits!! You HAVE to learn when fruit is ripe!! Bananas (Naner's as I like to call them..) are ripe when they have spots! Sugar spots!! The more the sweeter and for making smoothies Naner's are the creamy BASE. So ripen those babies up before you eat 'em!! They should smell SWEET not like STARCH.

One of these (or one comparable like the Vitmix) are most desirable for powerful blending:

PINEAPPLE WHIP:

6 Oranges

Frozen (or fresh of course) Pineapple (Costco) to your liking. Blend her up!

BAM!! Can you say, "Better than soft serve sorbet??" Oh yeah!!!!

BERRY NICE:

2 c. Pure Water, 7 RIPE Bananas, 3-4 c. Organic Baby Kale (Costco) & 3-4 c. Organic Triple Berry (Blackberry, Strawberry, Blueberry) Blend (Costco)

Green Smoothies are a FABULOUS way to get those green in! I try to eat at least A HEAD (1 lb.) of ORGANIC green lettuces (romaine, spinach, kale, etc.) in a day!! Yup. You need that much or more if you are an athlete. Eat a bunch in a smoothie and then have a salad at dinner everyday & you should be good! :)

MANGOLISCIOUS:

2 c. Pure water
6-7 (or more! This ain't rocket science! Add to your hearts content!) RIPE Naner's
3-4 c. (Just fill that baby up!) of mangos

Tons of Organic Spinach (Costco)
like 3-4 c.

2 T. ground organic flax (Costco) for Omega 3's.
Watch this vid to see why Flax is importante for Vegans: http://youtu.be/q7KeRwdIH04

And that's how I roll...

JUST FRUIT:

This is only Cantaloupe:

Just Nana's & Kale:

THE CHERRY BOMB!!: (My FAVE!)

Fresh organic spinach from my garden:

Add Naner's:

Man these frozen Organic Cherries (from Costco) are the BOMB!!!

Incredibly delicious!!!

Smoothies can be ANYTHING you want them to be! Have fun creating your favorites! Slurp up!!
